From My Heart To You

Just A Bend In The Road

Just a bend in the road
as you round a small curve
The leaves on the trees
glisten silver and gold

The grass in the fields
turned brown from the frost
the crops all harvested
before they were lost

Just a bend in the road
as your headed for home
to the warmth of the fire
and the love waiting there

The wood stacked in piles
to keep the fire glowing
the storm windows on
against winds that are howling

Coats, mittens, boots
are now your attire
no more shorts, t-shirts, sandals
to stay cool in the Summer

Just a bend in the road
and a little bit farther
as we end our jouney
in our mind as it wanders

Thinking of thoughts
as we drive further on
just a bend in the road
and then we'll be home
